"While the world's population is projected to grow 35% in the coming decades, the number of Muslims is expected to increase by 73% -from 1.6 billion in 2010 to 2.8 billion in 2050. In 2010, Muslims made up 23.2% of the global population. Four decades later, they are expected to make up about three-in-ten of the world's people (29.7%). By 2050, Muslims will be nearly as numerous as Christians." Pew Research April, 2015.
Muslims are immigrating into our country, our state, and our cities at a rate we have never witnessed before. The great commission calls for us to go into all the world and preach the gospel, but the Islamic world is coming to our neighborhood. So, how do we reach our new Muslim neighbors? It begins with our having a better understanding of their religion. After 9/11 we did a study on Islam here at Wake Chapel. Starting on Sunday, March 12th, the Pioneer class will again do the study on Islamics, entitled Battle For The Hearts. We welcome anyone who would like to join us for this study. If you would like to attend, please contact Joe Fort (firstname.lastname@example.org) to ensure that we print enough participant books.
Battle For The Hearts is a bold and in-depth look at:
- the origins of the religion of Islam and the Qur'an
- a comparison of the Bible with the Qur'an
- Islam's beliefs and practices
- the life of Muhammad
- apologetic arguments between Islam and Christianity
- practical methods Christians can use to share the Good News with Muslim neighbors
