Dear Prayer Partners,
Good things are happening in County district and the gospel continues to spread throughout our adopted Country as God powerfully changes lives and villages. The County Churches continue to reach out to make other disciples of Jesus and start new churches. I recently went up to visit County and returned to visit one of the new church plants where 6 new believers were baptized and the church is maturing. This church is in the village of Purun. Please Pray for Steve and his son-in-law Hank whom God is using to gather this new church together each week for worship.
This village takes about two hours to reach by moto bike, so the County church leaders can only get out there about once a month. Nearly six months ago, we met Hank and his whole family, just after their daughter had been in a very bad motorcycle accident and could not walk or stand. There we prayed over her asking God for a miracle of healing. I had not been back to this village, but when I went last month, she was walking great with no visual limp. They told me that since that time, they as a family had committed themselves to following Jesus. Their joy in Christ is contagious as they are part of leading others to Jesus as well.
Also continue to pray for Puy, another new church in the last year. Pray for Sah and Steve, who help to lead this church.
Please pray for the house church in Brego village where there is some struggles and divisiveness in the church.
Sonya and I have been back from the US for over a month now. Our trip to America was fast paced but we loved spending time with many of our family and dear friends. We felt blessed beyond words by the kind generosity shown through putting us up, offering us places of rest and sharing meals together. We were greatly encouraged by you – our family and supporters whom God has placed alongside us in this journey.
We are now settled back into our home in our village, and have already enjoyed a few visitors. Here is a picture of Sonya’s Birthday Party that our former teammate Rebecca helped the students throw for her.
Upon our return, we started teaching English again and some of our students were eager to start our Bible Study back up asking us when we would start again as soon as we arrived. We were encouraged to hear of their continued interest. Please lift up the following students: Reeza, Vannah, Soufe, Isa, and Navy. Also pray for Rosalie and his family as well as Sahmmat and his family. These are the two teachers who have shown interest in the gospel. Pray, too, for Joseph, Maiyahm, and Penh, their son.
Pray for us as we continue to build on these relationships and visit other surrounding villages. Pray for Dave as he started teaching second semester at PPBS last week.
Please lift up our oldest son, Matt and his wife Steph as they prepare for the birth of their 3rd son (due May 4th). They have continued to have visa struggles in Thailand and due to the tenuous situation on this, they are returning to the States for the birth of their child and to re-group their visa efforts through various avenues. Pray for God’s clear guidance and for their peace in it all.
Continue to pray for our other children too. They are all doing well and we are thankful. Zech and Tina working in Columbia, SC. Pray for them as they discern the next steps for their lives. Nathan finishing up his semester at LBC in Lancaster, PA and Mark finishing up his semester at Trinity Western in Vancouver, B.C., Canada.
Please continue to pray that the “Lord of the Harvest will send forth laborers into His harvest fields.”
May His grace and peace fill you,
"Alan and Martha"
